“ITALIAN STAR” by Composer Randy Edelman Celebrates National Fragrance Day

Composer Randy Edelman in collaboration with Sue Phillips Fragrances has launched “ITALIAN STAR” perfume in celebration of National Fragrance Day. The perfume is named after a beautiful and romantic new music release by Edelman entitled “The Italian Star” via Tribeca Records. The perfume comes in three scents,  including Citrus, a fresh and zesty smell, like that of lemon, lime, or blood orange, and is a  harmonizing, optimistic scent. The Woodys blend has a mysterious opulence coming from the likeness of the woods, the trees, and pine cones. Lastly a fruity scent, light and sweet and juicy and almost edible. Edelman’s song The Italian Star was a masterful inspiration for the fragrance, lending itself to the romantic beauty of Grand Canal which snakes it’s way through the heart of  one of the most romantic cities in the world, Venice and is lined with historic buildings dating from the 13th century.

Fragrance Day was officially established by The Fragrance Foundation in 2018. Their mission was “to drive awareness, excitement and education around the fragrance category for consumers, unite the fragrance community and kick off the spring season.” The day celebrates and is dedicated to the scent  discovery saluted in social media campaigns and activated with in-store events at national retailers.

The multi-award winning maestro who is credited for over 100 film and television scores (My Cousin Vinny, Last of the Mohicans, Ghostbusters ll, MacGyver, Dragonheart, etc.), and a multitude of pop song hits covered by some of the most iconic artists on the planet (Barry Manilow, Olivia, Newton-John, Jackie DeShannon, The Carpenters, Willie Nelson, Patti LaBelle, Nelly, Bing Crosby, Dionne Warwick and many others), now enjoys the status of fragrance designer.

Sue Phillips is one of the worlds foremost authorities on fragrances having been in the business for over 35 years.. Global luxury beauty companies, including Elizabeth Arden and Lancôme have hired Philllps for marketing their products. She was also recruited by Tiffany and Company to launch their successful Tiffany perfume for their 150th anniversary. She has also designed launches for Burberry, Diane, von Furstenberg, and many other brands. She is a consult for celebrities and executives, looking to secure and create their own perfect scent.

Randy Edelman will be honored on May 7, 2024 by the illustrious organization “Career Bridges” at their 20th anniversary gala at the Metropolitan Club in New York City.
