ATEEZ Member Seonghwa on His Paris Fashion Week Experience

Seonghwa, the eldest member of K-pop boy group ATEEZ, made a splash at Paris Fashion Week earlier this week. The 26-year-old singer attended Isabel Marant‘s Spring Summer 2025 show, marking his fashion week debut.

The K-pop superstar spoke with The Hollywood Reporter over email in between jetting from Paris to Seoul to Jakarta, where the powerhouse group is expected to perform tomorrow for the music festival City Camp Indonesia.

Seonghwa says PFW was a “very happy time” and that he spoke with other members of ATEEZ before heading out. “Hongjoong, San and Wooyoung attended fashion shows earlier in the week and spoke about how grateful they are to ATINY,” he said, calling out the official name for ATEEZ fans. “They also mentioned that they thought a lot about the other members while they were there.”

“I honestly felt the same way, and it really reaffirmed the fact that we are ‘Eight Makes One Team,’” Seonghwa continued, referring to the eight-piece group’s motto.

Below, Seonghwa opens up about his personal style and fashion week experience, along with how he and the rest of ATEEZ inspire one another when it comes to style.

How would you describe your personal style? What story are you trying to tell?

I believe that anyone, regardless of age or gender, should be able to wear the clothes that they want. I find such joy in being able to express myself through clothes and fashion. As an artist, I’m able to embody and portray so many aspects of myself through our music, facial expressions in performances, and dance, but with fashion, I can express and showcase another completely different side of myself that fully embraces and captures my personal story.

Is there someone you look up in the world of fashion or style?

There [are] so many brilliant people in the world of fashion, but I’ve received such a great influence from the incredible Kim Bekker, Isabel Marant and Anthony Vaccarello.

Overall, how was your first fashion week? Were you nervous? Excited? Did it live up to your expectations?

While I was preparing for fashion week, just thinking about it and imagining everything made me nervous and excited, but it was honestly a very happy time. I felt like I had prepared everything perfectly, so on the day of the show, I was completely immersed in it. It was such a wonderful time.

Did you speak with any of your fellow ATEEZ members who have gone to fashion week in the past about what to expect or get any advice from them?

Hongjoong, San and Wooyoung attended fashion shows earlier in the week and spoke about how grateful they are to ATINY [the official name for ATEEZ’s fans]. They also mentioned that they thought a lot about the other members while they were there. I honestly felt the same way, and it really reaffirmed the fact that we are “Eight Makes One Team” [a reference to the group’s motto].

Do you find that you and the rest of ATEEZ inspire one another’s style?

We do seem to give inspiration to one another a lot, but we have such admiration and respect for each other because each member has such a distinct personality and taste in style. It’s this understanding we have of one another that allows us to express our own styles to the fullest.

Your look for the Isabel Marant show was great! How did you feel wearing the clothes? Did you have a favorite part of the ensemble?

Everyone expected me to wear men’s clothes, but I saw that in one of Isabel [Marant]’s interviews, she mentioned how she is naturally drawn to women’s clothing. I feel the same way, so I decided to keep an open mind and boldly give it a try. I especially liked the high heels. I absolutely loved the final look, and it really felt like the clothes were made just for me. This made me even more curious about the story that would unfold with the Spring Summer 2025 collection.

I saw that you told fans going to Paris Fashion Week was a dream come true. What’s next for you? Do you have another fashion or style goal you’re working towards?

I’d love to have the chance to attend more fashion shows and collaborate with brands to bring a positive influence to people, not only through music, but also through fashion. I want to take this opportunity, through this show, to once again thank our fans, ATINY.
