Ashton Kutcher Supports Mila Kunis During ‘Live’ Guest-Hosting Gig

Mila Kunis got lots of love during her guest-hosting gig on Live With Kelly and Mark.

The actress filled in for Kelly Ripa during the daytime talk show’s Wednesday, July 29, episode, as Ripa is currently taking time off to recover from a recent gum graft surgery. “This is so fun,” she told Mark Consuelos at the top of the episode. “I have to tell you, I’m never on this side of anything. And so, given the power that I can talk about anything I want, it’s too much power for one person to have.”

Consuelos went on to ask Kunis about how she decided to co-host the show. Kunis joked that she said yes to the opportunity quickly because she had “one too many margaritas” at the time. “The call came in on a vacation at, like, 2:30 in the afternoon,” she explained. “I was poolside, I was [sipping my drink], watching my kids. I was like, ‘This seems like a great idea!’ And I was like, ‘Yes, I’ll do it!’ And then, of course, the next day, I was like, ‘What did I say yes to?’”

Kunis shares her two kids, Wyatt and Dimitri, with her husband, Ashton Kutcher. The couple met as co-stars on the sitcom That ’70s Show and went on to tie the knot in 2015.

“Do they like New York?” Consuelos asked about her family’s time in the Big Apple. She replied, “They do because the novelty of walking around for them is a thing. Nobody walks around in L.A.”

Among their opening conversation topics, Kunis mentioned that Kutcher was backstage, prompting gasps from audience members. “I love that you gasped that my husband’s backstage,” she stated. “He is backstage, guys. He’s really real, and he’s here.”

As she continued to chat with Consuelos, Kunis pointed out her husband standing off to the side of the stage. “There he is! He’s so happy right now. Hi, babe!” Kunis gushed as Kutcher gave a thumbs up and waved to her and Consuelos.

During “The Inbox” segment at the end of Wednesday’s episode, Consuelos read a sweet fan letter praising Kunis’ guest-hosting performance. “‘I absolutely adore Mila Kunis as your guest host. She should do it more often. The energy, the hosting abilities, and the looks are on point,’” it said.

Kunis is the second celebrity to fill in for Ripa on Live this week. Kevin Jonas joined Consuelos at the hosting desk on Monday, July 27, and Tuesday, July 28. Consuelos has not confirmed when Ripa will return to the Live studio.

Fans weighed in on Kunis’ guest-hosting performance via social media. “Mila Kunis For ALLLLL Future Fill-Ins. That Is All. TY,” one person commented underneath a pic of Kunis and Consuelos with guest Jeffrey Dean Morgan on the show’s Instagram page.

Another fan commented underneath an Instagram pic of the hosts with guest Ice-T, “Thank you Mila! It was a pleasure to see you and your Husband… It was great.” Someone else shared, “I love Mia being on there!!”
