Composer Randy Edelman Releases Remix From Live Album “Après Covid” (AKA Comin’ Out the Other Side)

Tribeca Records announces the remixed release of “Après Covid” (aka “Comin’ Out the Other Side”) from Composer Randy Edelman’s brand new LIVE album “Around the World in 80 Minutes” the dazzling climax of his songs performed at his live, sold out shows in New York City and London the past 3 years. A more intimate version than the original “Comin’ Out the Other Side” which was one of the first post pandemic anthems to be launched to the wider world via Tribeca Records, was written and performed by Edelman and will be unveiled March 29, 2024 as a single release.

“Après Covid” will be accompanied by a heartfelt video of Randy performing the song adorned in a scarlet jacket. He attacks life with a passion that comes with time, experience, trials and errors. The video is not something that strikes you like a thunderbolt but rather a perfect storm. Randy’s passion has no boundaries or destination…it’s forever…..

The vast universe allows few opportunities for true collective trauma, but COVID-19 was a rare and most unwelcome exception. Apart from the lives this horrible intruder cost us between 2020 and 2021 it sent us spiraling into a state of constant anxiety, it erased the pleasures of life and deprived us from the company of friends and family. The pandemic fueled a science fiction type dystopian world….only it was real. When the fear began to subside, our senses became less mangled and the light at the end of the tunnel became dimly lit, Edelman wrote this song of hope and inspiration staying close to the music that made you glad you are alive.

“We knocked on the doors of Hell’s darkest chamber, Pushed to the limit, we dragged ourselves in”…..Joy Division

Like a seductive alchemist Randy began his song writing career recording his own albums and transforming the world’s anguish into a narrative of truth, romance, and sensibility. He developed a successful career in England with songs like “Uptown, Uptempo Woman”, and “Concrete and Clay.” Since then his songs have been covered by artists including Barry Manilow, Patti LaBelle, Dionne Warwick, The Carpenters, Willie Nelson, Blood, Sweat and Tears, Hip Hop star Nelly, and an endless list of others.

As a film composer Randy Edelman creates the musical scores that accompany movies. As one of cinema’s best and most notable musical voices, Edelman remained sequestered behind closed doors for two and a half decades while he wrote the soundtracks to movies including “My Cousin Vinny”, “Last of the Mohicans”, “Gettysburg”, “Anaconda”, “The Quest”, “The Indian In The Cupboard”, “Drop Dead Fred”, and over a hundred others. Randy’s music ventures beyond the silver television to television where he wrote the theme for the hit series MacGyver”, many for ESPN, HBO, CBS, and themes for the Olympics.

Like the first cup of coffee in the morning his ideas begin to move, smiles arise, and writing ceases to be a struggle. In his song “Comin’’ Out the Other Side” (Après Covid) his inspiration took us beyond statistics of global deaths, and the crisis affecting individual lives…..He told us we were safe. He let us escape from the darkness, embrace our resilience, and celebrate a treasure trove of love and selflessness and the impact that had on our communities.
