Jessie Ware and the xxâs Romy Share New Song âLift You Upâ: Listen
Jessie Ware and the xxâs Romy have shared a new song together. âLift You Up,â produced by Stuart Price, is the first collaboration between the British artists. The two also premiered the track onstage at Glastonbury. Check out the new song, plus footage of the Glastonbury performance, below.
Romy previously worked with Ware on the latterâs 2014 album, Tough Love, contributing co-writing to the song âShare It All.â In a press release, speaking on âLift You Up,â Romy shared, âIâve been a fan of Jessieâs music for a long time and it was amazing to finally work together after many years of friendship.⦠We wanted this song to be uplifting, celebrate togetherness, and I canât think of a better way to share it with everyone than at Glastonbury.â
Ware added, âI was so excited to be in the room with my friend and to see how she works and to hear her beautiful voice. Iâm so proud of the record. Itâs a song thatâs about both of us being too hard on ourselves, and not believing enough in ourselves. I think anyone can relate to that.â
Romy released her debut solo album, Mid Air, last year. Jessie Wareâs latest album, That! Feels Good!, also arrived in 2023.
Ware will take the stage on Saturday, July 20, for this yearâs Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago. Also on this yearâs lineup are Jamie xx, Alanis Morissette, Black Pumas, Carly Rae Jepsen, Jai Paul, Brittany Howard, De La Soul, Unwound, 100 Gecs, and more. Tickets are on sale.
