Listen to Alfie Templeman start a “new chapter” on London-inspired new single âBeckham’
Alfie Templeman has ventured into a ânew chapterâ with his summery new single âBeckhamâ. Check it out below.
The track is the latest single to be shared from the London-based multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer and performerâs upcoming album âRadiosoulâ
The LP marks his second studio album, and the follow-up to his 2022 breakout debut âMellow Moonâ. It is set for release on June 7 via Chess Club Records/AWAL Recordings, and has already seen singles including âHello Lonelyâ and âEyes Wide Shutâ.
Now, with just over two weeks until the full album drops, Templeman has shared yet another teaser from the LP. In âBeckhamâ, the singer-songwriter combines his signature breezy vocals with a catchy chorus and slick groove.
âThe chorus of this song is the list of places I was looking to move houses to in London,â Templeman said of the inspiration behind âBeckhamâ. âI moved for the first time in my life in the summer of â23, which was really exciting, but the days counting down to moving out really felt like the realest and most dignifying moments of my life. It felt like a whole new chapter had started.â
Check it out below.
As for the album as a whole, the project is set to see the multi-instrumentalist join forces with cult producer Dan Carey â whom he describes as a âdream to make music withâ â and see Templeman push his boundaries further than ever before.
While still maintaining the sense of optimism and feel-good energy seen on âMellow Moonâ, with the new LP, the singer is set to showcase more maturity in both his sound and subject matter.
âWhat he addresses with ‘Radiosoul’ is the struggles with social media, feeling knackered by touring, learning to deal with anxiety and panic attacks, and moving out of your parentsâ house â all while youâre also still trying to figure yourself out,â reads a press release.
It is also set to see him embark on a journey of self-discovery, as well as experiment with new genres and retain the same sense of joy that put him on the map. Visit here to pre-order.
âThereâs an exciting energy that gets captured when you donât know whatâs coming next. Every song is intentionally different from the last. Itâs about the weird and the wonderful, the big, bright, bursting moments and the quiet, raw, reflective moments,â he said of the album.
âBack when I started out, what really excited me was using music as a way of documenting my life. Each EP felt like a little diary entry, taking the last half a year of my life condensed into a few songs. This album really reminds me of that, but this time it looks back at my whole life.
âI finally feel a little more confident about fighting the darkness that will inevitably lurk around from time to time. This album is about turning 20: entering a new decade of your life and figuring out how you guided yourself to where you are now even if you donât really know how.â
Templeman will be celebrating the album release with a run of record store tour dates, including stops in London, Nottingham, Bristol, Liverpool and more. Visit here for remaining tickets and find a list of events below.

In a four-star review of the musicianâs debut studio effort, NME wrote: âThe album carefully twists and turns through Templemanâs headspace as he searches for answers to an escape from the doldrums of modern life, flickering between loss (âDo Itâ) and reassurance (the buoyant, mood-lifting âColour Me Blueâ).â
