The Ark Season 3 Episode 7 Brings Heartbreak to a Character Who Doesn’t Deserve It

The Ark Season 3 Episode 7 Brings Heartbreak to a Character Who Doesn’t Deserve It

There are some characters who deserve all the good things happening to them on The Ark.

Zed is one of them, a man of his word and a protector of his people.

Yet, The Ark Season 3 Episode 7 delivers heartbreak. Sure, there’s a bit of hope toward the end, but as a parent, I can only imagine everything he is feeling.

Sharon Gets In Trouble Again

At some point, you have to wonder if the members on Ark One are gluttons for punishment.

After just dealing with a time loop that nobody remembers, they follow another distress signal.

This time, it actually leads them to another Ark, Ark 16. However, there’s a major problem.

Everyone on that Ark is infected with some sort of contagion, and you just know that Ark One would end up being infected.

It wouldn’t be a good episode if there wasn’t a situation that the team had to get out of.

I will admit that I loved that it gave Kabir a chance to shine.

She’s often overlooked, dealing with personal drama more than anything else.

The start of The Ark Season 3 has been about her relationship with Marsh and her now-dead ex-husband — not that she knows that.

I did appreciate that she had the mental capacity to find a cure for the infection after finding out what it was in the first place.

And I adored the fact that she thought to call Angus, since plants are his thing.

However, I do wish that Sharon and co. could just get back to Homebase-1 already.

Sure, it wouldn’t be a drama if they didn’t have some sort of emergency to deal with each episode, but just once, it would be nice to see everyone else handling the drama.

The Ark Is a Little Imbalanced

My biggest issue is how imbalanced the drama is.

While there is something for Homebase-1 to deal with, it’s more of a longer-arc situation.

We have the tablet that Kelly can now decode, Angus figuring out a little more about the plants, and now the debris that landed on the planet a year ago.

Ves is somewhere out there, and we know that she’s sure to pop up again, probably in a few episodes, but since getting Angus and Kelly out of the cave, there’s been nothing majorly problematic for a team on Homebase-1.

I think that will change with the latest findings, but I need to focus more on Homebase-1.

I need something a little more urgent on that planet, in a way that we see each and every episode on Ark One.

That way, I wouldn’t keep wondering why this group of people was happy to answer every single distress call.

Now, yes, they’re soldiers, explorers, whatever you want to call them. They are trained to answer distress calls, but surely they want to recharge!

I need them to recharge.

My Heart Breaks for Zed

As we get just over the halfway point of The Ark Season 3, it means that things are about to come to a head, though.

It’s clear how some of that is going to happen.

With Kelly now understanding the language, she, Angus, and Alicia can communicate with the people who were on the planet first.

This can help get to the bottom of what Brice needs to fix, which is why he’s seeing so much of Doc, and also what Ves did before Ark One got to the planet.

Part of me still thinks that it was something to do with the other people on the planet, but The Ark Season 3 Episode 7 does bring up some doubt.

Zed, Trust, and Felix went hunting for more debris after Felix found the first piece.

This year-old debris broke my heart, as Zed slowly worked out what exactly he was looking at.

This wasn’t just any ship in the water. It was an EF ship. In fact, it was EF-1, the one his son was on.

No parent should have to lose a child, and definitely not Zed.

He had his moments at first, but it was clear that this was a man who wanted to leave prejudices behind.

Zed is a man of integrity, and we saw that when he trusted Felix and worked with Alicia to prove Ves was up to something.

There is a sense of hope that his son made it, because there were bodies to show that some people got off the ship, and now I just hope that his son is one of them.

However, this ship has been around for too long for people to just wander out of the woods looking for help.

That conversation between Ves and Milan is still at the back of my mind.

While it seemed like they were discussing something they did to the indigenous people, I’m now starting to wonder if Ves helped to take down the EF ship.

She wouldn’t want to admit that to other members of the EF, but it would certainly connect her Black Thorne past to the present-day mystery.

I’m a little worried we’re getting far too many mysteries and that there won’t be enough time to tie everything together, but I have faith in The Ark writers to pull it off.

There are still five episodes, but I hope there isn’t another one thrown in, as once Ark One gets back to Homebase-1, fixing “Doc” is going to have to become a priority for Brice.
