Icebreaker has found its Nate Hawkins, and yes, he looks like he fell straight out of the book and onto the ice!

On September 28, Netflix revealed the two main leads of its Icebreaker adaptation: Daisy Jelley and newbie Connor Simos. The duo is set to take the screen as Stassie and Nate, a figure skater and hockey player whose teams are forced to share the ice after an incident at their college.

Who is playing Nate in Icebreaker?

We love to see a fresh face on-screen (and on the ice)! Connor Simos has been cast as Nate Hawkins. In Hannah Grace’s novel, Nate is the Captain of the Maple Hills Titans hockey team. He’ll be starring alongside Daisy Jelley, who is set to play Anastasia “Stassie” Allen, a figure skater with high Olympic hopes. Check out their adorable announcement video below!

Who is Connor Simos?

Simos is an Australian actor who has kept his life fairly private online. Ahead of the casting announcement, Simos had roughly 300 followers and no posts on Instagram. Of course, the Icebreaker casting announcement was his first post. He wrote, “See you on the ice.”

Where is Connor Simos from?

While we don’t know where Simos is from specifically, it is clear that he is from Australia. he also attended The National Institute of Dramatic Art in Kensington. There, he received a Diploma of Stage and Screen Performance in 2024.

With Simos coming from Australia, author Hannah Grace was quick to share that the adaptation will still take place in America — with American accents. She looked back at their chemistry read, sharing, “I literally gasped watching Daisy and Connor’s chemistry read. The chemistry read, where, yes! Do not panic! They have American accents like they will in the show!”

What else has Connor Simos been in?

Simos is fairly new to the on-screen scene. As a recent drama school alum, he has one IMDb credit so far. He is set to appear as E.J. Adams in the upcoming Chris Hemsworth movie, Subversion. Looks like his breakout is right around the corner!
